I have been swooning over these pictures of open shelving
I had to have some of my own. I would have loved to have open shelving on both sides of my sink, however, the cabinet on the left is L shaped and I thought it would look odd.
This is what I ended up with:

It's not much but it does make me happy every time I go in the kitchen
P.S. that little chevron towel by the sink is from Target ($2.99)
I added bead board wallpaper to the back for a little more character.
