New Barstools!

This Christmas Grant wanted to buy me two new barstools for the new countertop (or should I say I asked for them?). We couldn't find exactly what we wanted so we ended up buying two Henriksdal barstools and adding a ruffle to the bottom. I am pretty pleased with how they turned out and the best part is how easy it was!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday Everyone!
I am always glad when Friday comes, even though I do really enjoy my job and feel as though I make a difference daily.  But something about planning your weekend itinerary and knowing that you can sleep as late as you want makes me oh so happy.
Grant and I didn't sleep well last night...no we don't have children keeping us up. We do however have a 4 year old lab who I can imagine sounds like a child crying at night (I am sure some parents are rolling their eyes...I don't blame you). For some reason Buddy has started to howl when he hears my voice but can't see me or just anytime of the day. Last night he chose 3:34 as his howling hour then 5:00 and once again at 7:00, when we were getting ready. It goes something like this (play video)..........sorry my voice sounds funny, I had the flu the day I took this video clip:)

Before and After

First things first, when Grant and I moved to Denton we were fortunate enough to live in a family home on a ranch. My MIL allowed us to "fix it up" a little bit (huge difference). We really enjoyed that house but were ready for our own so we could do crazy things like paint the wall with chalkboard paint(we really did that). Here our a few pics of our "first home".

Homebody

homebody [ˈhəʊmˌbɒdɪ]

a person whose life and interests are centred on the home

This month marks the first year anniversary of living in our house. I am a true homebody, so buying our first home was more than a big deal. I told my husband that we should do something special on the home's anniversary like eat a lunchable on the master bedroom floor (that's what we did the first day we bought it) but instead we just curled up and admired the things we love.

*I will post some before and after pics soon*
